Fasting ?

Fasting in Islam is the practice for abstaining usually from food, drink, smoke, including sexual acivity. Fasting also can help us to maintain our health. So that, we can keep our body health. This is because, fasting will give us many benefits that good for our body. Fasting is not only in the holymonth of Ramadhan, but we can do other types of fasting in the another month. Here, we will show you how fasting can help us to maintain our body healthy.  

As we know, there's many types of fasting that we can do. But, we will introduce to you one of them that you can do to keep your body health which is voluntary fasting. This voluntary fasting can be done every Monday and Thursday in a week so we can get used to it. It also helps control our eppetite and healthy body if added with a balanced diet. With that, our body and mind ill always be healthy and fit also maintain ideal weight and enable us to do activities easily. Otherwise, by practicing this voluntary fasting help us discipline ourselves by fasting because we can control ourselves from overeating that can cause weight gain to obesity and cause unhealthy and not fit to do anything.

According to Dr. Lonny J.Brown in adventures in Therapeutic Fasting, The usual practice in todays’s society is when a person suffers from illness, he or she will take medicines that relieve the illness. Therefore, fasting can also prevent us from getting sick. There are some benefits of fasting for our body’s health, which are can reduce inflammation. Inflammation can be caused by many factors, one of them is an unhealthy diet that has many free radicals. For example, food contain refined sugar, carbohydrates, alcohol, meat, dairy and fried foods . Therefore, fasting is essential for reducing inflammation. In addition, fasting can improve the health of the cardiovascular especially for those who have health problems related to metabolism syndrome. Fasting can improve cardiovascular function, blood composition and blood pressure. Fasting can also improve people with diabetes and high cholesterol. Therefore, the practice of balanced food during the breaking of fast is strongly encouraged tp avoid us from obtaining the recipe. For instance, eat no less. Next, fasting can also reduces blood sugar levels within a few days of fasting, blood sugar will decrease by more than 30%, for those with hyperglycemia. Sugar drops will ooften make a person feel less energetic, but blood sugar levels will be stable when fasting continuously. Therefore, fasting can prevent from getting illness in the body.





Fasting is one of the best time for us to exercise. When fasting, we usually feel the body will become weak. This is not a reason for us to not exercise. If we are not doing exercise, we will not be able to maintain health and our body weight will increase. This is because, the time of prophet Muhammad s.a.w, he also fasting during the war. So do we. Fasting is not our barrier to do things daily like other people, we can also be as other people can do everyday and work out. But we need to choose a good meal when it comes to dates so we can do our exercise easily at the best times.

Breaking fast should choose good food and a little bit so the body does not become weak and lazy because of eating too much food. It’s best to eat a little later, then take the prayers then eat the rest of the food. Good food to break like 3 dates, cakes and a glass of water. Avoid buying too much food, the end is not spent on the food, as it is too full. Moreover, if we have fasted for a day and continue to eat a lot of food will eventually lead to the health of our bodies. We also need to avoid eating fast food when fasting, it can give a bad impression to us. We should prioritize good food first.
In conclusion, fasting is one of the ways to keep our body healthy. It does not harm, it is even better for the growth of our inner system. Therefore, we are encouraged to fasting twice a week because of its own wisdom. Fasting does not weaken and even adds to health. Fasting is good for yourself.
